Salty and sweet foods are the best at the time of diarrhea as it reduces dehydration or loss of nutrients and fluids from our body tissues because if dehydration continues for three or four days, it can result in serious complications. The best way to treat dehydration is to drink some liquids containing salt and sugar. The salt reduces the fluid loss while sugar helps to absorb salt.

- Some vegetables that can cause gas such as beans, berries, peppers, broccoli, prunes, chickpeas, green leafy vegetables must be avoided.
- Caffeine, alcohol and all carbonated drinks should be strictly avoided during this period.
- Some dairy products like butter, ice cream etc that can cause gas and other heath hazards should be avoided though the diarrhea.
- You also should stay away from foods that are not restored properly or mishandled or have been out of refrigerator for too long period.
- Food containing huge amount of fat should be avoided to get recovered from diarrhea soon.
