It can easily be explained if a sinus infection is viral or bacterial. Viralinfection infects the lining of nasal cavity of ear nose and throat whereas bacterial sinus infection infects lining of nasal cavity causing strep throat. Viral infection causes upper respiratory infections such as common cold whereas bacterial infection takes 7-12 days to cure but before that it causes high fever, facial pain, headache and nasal drainage.
