When you are constantly consumed by the hustle and bustle of adulting life, what is your idea of a perfect day at home? On top of our list is the South Korean Black Comedy Movie, Parasite directed by Bong Joon Ho. While it is not the usual comedies that we are used to, this film is the first ever foreign movie to win an Oscar as the best picture. That definitely says a lot! Even more so, this movie is highly rated in several of the best movie review sites just like Rotten Tomatoes and ImDb.
Cray Rich Asians
Looking for something light and feel good to watch? Give Crazy Rich Asians a shot. Based on the best-selling novel by Kevin Kwan, this film follows the story of Rachel, who meets her boyfriend’s family for the first time – only to realize they are crazy rich. By that, we mean they are billionaires. It is a fun movie that also gives us some much-needed representation.
Back to The Future
Into the theme of time travel and sci-fi? Watch one of the first ever hit movies that explores that category. Back to The Future follows the story of Marty where he meets younger versions of his parents. Now, here’s the catch : Marty must find a way for them to fall in love. Or else, he is in danger of ceasing to exist…for good.
Game of Thrones
Despite its questionable ending, Game of Thrones is arguably one of the best ever TV series to hit our screens. In case you are part of the one percent who has not seen a single episode of this series that garnered massive success, it follows the story of nine noble families who go against each other in order to gain control over the mystical land of Westeros.
Black Mirror
Up for something dark and borderline creepy? Black Mirror might be the perfect series for you. In fact, once you get hooked, you might agree that 2020, as a whole, feels like an entire season of Black Mirror in itself. In a nutshell, this anthology series follows the affairs in a group of people’s lives. Even more so, the narratives show us how badly technology can manipulate our behaviour and completely take over our lives without us even knowing it.
