After the construction of Mani Dam next to Mastikatte and the underground power generation station, next to Hulikal, Shimoga district, the water flow of this falls is significantly reduced and is noticeable only during the rainy season i.e. July to Sept.

The segments stretch along the cliff. The water falls from a height of 315 meters (1,033 ft) and has a width of 70 meters (230 ft). The waterfalls get lightened up by the sun from sunrise to sunset. The vivacious colors of the setting sun on the Nohsngithiang Falls make it stunning to behold.
