The slot machines of Las Vegas

Slot machines are one of the most-loved games in any casino. Whether it’s online or in a brick-and-mortar casino, slot machines make a lot of money for the industry, with the average making anywhere from $120-$250 per day.

Slots are a great way to make some money in a casino. They require no skill but sometimes a deep pocket, although depending on how lucky your spins are, you might need no more than $5 to win big. Winning one of the daily jackpots is what many Slots players aim for, although a small payout is great for tiding you over and breaking even. Let’s take a look at some of the famous Slots you can find in Las Vegas.

Sigma Derby at The D

North of the Arts District in Las Vegas is The D Hotel & Casino. This casino may not be on the strip and receive the same footfall as other Vegas casinos, but it’s extremely popular for its Sigma Derby slot game.

If you’re an avid gambler at the races, this game will be right up your street. You can place a bet on a horse to win from as little as 25 cents. When all bets are placed, the horses begin the race with the fastest declared as the winner. The Sigma Derby in Vegas is the last of its kind and whilst it doesn’t appear as a traditional slot machine, the nature of it classifies it as a slot.

Massive Slot at Golden Nugget

Nearby to The D Casino, is the Golden Nugget. Although this slot machine isn’t old, it’s enormous. Nicknamed as Big Bertha, this slot machine is perfect for anyone wishing to put on a display in the casino. Although Big Bertha is an exciting slot machine to play on, the odds are the same as the other slot machines so be prepared to win and lose on this over-sized machine.

If you ever travel to the Golden Nugget you won’t be able to miss it, not only are the four reels eight feet tall, the slot is also next to the reception desk! Usually, a crowd will be surrounding the machine so be prepared for onlookers to watch you play, but also be ready to work out! The over-sized arm for the slot machine can be tiresome if you’re pulling it down over and over again.

Silver Strike machines

Another rare slot machine, the Silver Strike. In the Four Queens casino, you’ll find one of these rare machines, and although some are still in use today only a few produce the coveted silver coin, this is because casinos now have to produce their own.

Similar to any other slot machine, but a Silver Strike game gives out coins instead of paper as prizes. The silver coins – which are now often made from silver and copper – have become a collectors’ item for many gamblers and are worth a lot of money. Most of the coins are valued around the $10 mark, an instant profit when one spin is a mere $3, but some coins can be worth up to $300.
