Dubai Miracle Garden
Located a short drive away from the hustle and bustle of the city, the Dubai Miracle Garden spans over 70,000 square metres. Opened on February 14th 2013, this spectacular attraction is home to more than 45 million flowers all year round. That’s an incredible feat, considering the soaring temperatures of the Dubai desert.
Full of beautiful and often surprising installations, the Dubai Miracle Garden is an assault on the senses. The amazing aromas and exquisite colours are simply stunning and must be experienced to be believed.
Like any good tourist attraction, you’ll also find various souvenir and coffee shops dotted around the place. And in the evenings, they put on some spectacular shows. Don’t miss it!
Meydan Racecourse
At Scoopify, we already talked about the famous sights of Dubai. We don’t imagine that many people consider going to see a racecourse on vacation. But Meydan Racecourse is definitely worth a look.
Opened in March 2010, the Grandstand is the largest in the world at over a mile long. The Dubai World Cup is a spectacular annual event and the organisers put on an incredible show. With a total of 86 kilometres worth of track, Al Qudra is said to lie on an old camel trail. Today though, it is a fantastic place to indulge in some road cycling. With very few steep hills, the beginner track is perfect to get some exercise.

Okay, this isn’t strictly Dubai, but it’s extremely close and definitely worth a visit. When people think of the UAE, they immediately imagine sand dunes and camels. Not so many people realise that there is a Mangrove Park, with over one hundred square metres of protected land.
The Mangrove Park is home to many unique species. Hundreds of reptiles and birds may be observed as you walk the various trails or ride the boats. The historic area is also where the local tribes would gather the wood needed to survive. Take a trip out of town for the day and get in touch with nature.
Digdaga Farms
This one is a little off the beaten track, a settlement just over 110 kilometres away from Dubai in nearby Ras Al Khaimah. Much like the Mangrove Park, this area constantly surprises tourists who have a stereotypical idea of the region. The vast landscape of green hills and valleys is simply bursting with lush vegetation.
Locals enjoy visiting Digdaga for walks and picnics. But an interested visitor may also want to visit the dairy farm, where they can purchase the local produce. Digdaga, sometimes spelled as “Diqdaqa”, is also home to the Al Sawan Camel Race Track. Races take place every Friday morning.
Jebel Jais
The highest peak in the UAE, Jebel Jais is located within the Hajar mountain range, around 150km outside of Dubai. The 1,934 metre natural wonder is on the border with Oman and its summit is on the Omani side. But the highest point within the UAE is still a monumental 1,892 metre climb.
Not only can visitors hike Jebel Jais, you can take a car to the top. Along the way there are many rest stops to allow for photos or a picnic. The views are breathtaking. If you’re feeling brave, you can try the Jebel Jais flight, which is the longest zipline in the world.
