Therefore it was the fastest of the Chang’e missions taking a total of 4 days, 12 hours, and 23 minutes to get to the Moon before landing to the lunar surface.
Manned Missions:
The Apollo missions, were the only manned lunar mission, which were far too quick to reach the Moon. Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin were the first men to walk the moon’s surface, was actually an Apollo 11 mission that made the greatest headlines.
The historic mission was launched on July 16th1969, to everyone’s amazement the craft reached lunar orbit in 51 hours and 49 minutes, and they finally landed on July 19th, 1969.
Apollo 11 which had the involvement of the astronauts was the fastest trip to the Moon.
While paving its path back to earth the craft took another three days (approx.) and the total mission was accomplished in one hundred and nine hours and fourth two minutes.
Fastest Mission to Date:
Fastest mission to moon was NASA’s New Horizons Pluto mission was the fastest space craft to fly past the Moon. This mission had an explosively speedy launch.
It took merely 8 hours and 35 minutes to reach the surface of the Moon from Earth
PS: This was not a mission was not designed exclusively for moon but it was been taken to Pluto, which was way ahead of the Earth’s natural satellite.
